Bidirectional relationship of society and individual and reciprocity affects the society as well as its members in various ways. It may be described as cooperation and this instinct motivates the individual to form a cooperative society. Cooperatives or social-enterprises formed by the members have existed in India since a long time. It is reflected by the Cooperative Credit Societies Act of 1904. Cooperatives are based on the philosophy that in the creation, maintenance and the development of an enterprise, each member is treated as an equal and has equal right and responsibility.
After India attained Independence in 1947, cooperative development received due recognition and cooperatives were given a central role in the Five Year Plans formulated by the Planning Commission of India particularly for the transformation of the rural economy. With a net-work of about six lakh cooperatives and a membership base of about 24 crore, the Indian cooperative movement has proved to be an effective economic instrument for ensuring growth with equity and inclusiveness.
Your this Society was registered in the year 1967 with the aim to raise socio- economic status of its members by providing credit facilities both for short term and medium term period at reasonable rate of interest without any rigid and cumbersome paper work to enable them to purchase house hold items.
We make assumptions every time. The breakdown happens when our assumptions are flat wrong. It is dangerous to believe we know everything about our members and vice versa. When we communicate with our members, do so as clearly as possible with an open mind (and open ears). Listening is one of the greatest tools to combat assumptions. For better communication, computerization has enabled us in a better manner. We have fully computrised our database which is available to our members with the help of website. E- mail is also available for better communication between the members and the Society.
Now a days ‘service’ is the essential feature for any organization and/ or enterprises. As a professional I always keep this in mind. With the variety of choices members now have, the supply/demand model is now flipped around putting the power in members’ hands. It is now about knowing what the member wants and serving them, or they will find what they are looking for elsewhere.
To do better in this field, many welfare activities have been started by the Society for its members from time to time and many more will be institutionalized on need base.
It will not happen without the assistance provided by our trained staff, coordination between executive committee members and cooperation of our esteemed members.
Wish you a prosperous future.
